A beginner blend tutorial
This lesson was written for PSP 9 but can be done in any other version of PSP.
This tutorial assumes you have a basic working knowledge of PSP.
Materials needed:
Font of your choice.
Tubes and images are provided in the
zip file below.

I would like to thank Leo de Groot for the use
of his photographs which were misted by myself.
Before we start:
Unzip your materials to a folder of your choice. Open
the tubes and images in your PSP program and minimize
these files for now.
Step 1) Open a New
Transparent Raster Image size 640 x 480 pixels. This is now your
Main Image.
Step 2) Set your foreground colour
to a dark colour to match your tubes, I used #5f322f. Set
your background colour to a contrasting colour to match your
tubes, I used #efb813.
Step 3) Restore image Else49_NFL_Background.jpg. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 4) Go to your Main Image
and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L).
Step 5) Restore Else49-NFL_Greenspond.psp. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 6) Go to your Main Image
and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L). Move this tube
to the right and up. See image:

Step 7) Restore Else49-NFL_StJohns.psp. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 8) Go to your Main
Image and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L). Move this
tube to the left and up. See image:

Step 9) Restore Else49-NFL_Greenspond_2.psp. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 10) Go to your Main
Image and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L). Move this
tube to the right and down. See image:

Step 11) Restore Else49-NFL_Greenspond_3.psp. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 12) Go to your Main
Image and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L). Move this
tube to the left and down. See image:

Step 13) Restore Else49-NFL_Humpbackwhale.psp. Click
on Edit -Copy (CTRL-C).
Step 14) Go to your Main
Image and click on Edit-Paste As A New Layer (CTRL-L). Move this
tube just down and a little to the right. See image:

Step 15) Click on your Text Tool
and with your background colour set to #efb813 and using the
following settings:
Create as: Vector, Font of your choice (I used Brockscript), Size
to your setting (I used 54), Stroke width (pixels): 0.0, Alignment:
Center, leave the rest of the settings to the default settings. Now
type in the word 'Newfoundland'. Size
may vary with different versions of PSP so you may have to adjust
the settings accordingly.
Step 16) Convert your text layer
to a Raster Layer by Clicking on Layers-Convert to Raster Layer. Move
the word to the bottom left. See sample above.
Step 17) Add a Drop Shadow to
your text by Clicking on Effects-3D Effects-Drop Shadow with
the following settings: Vertical/Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 100,
Blur: 1.00, Color: Black
Step 18) Again click on your Text
Tool and using
the same settings as before type in the word 'Canada'.
Size may vary with different
versions of PSP so you may have to adjust the settings accordingly.
Step 19) Convert your text layer
to a Raster Layer by Clicking on Layers-Convert to Raster Layer. Move
this word below the word 'Newfoundland'. See sample above.
Step 20) Add a Drop Shadow to
your text by Clicking on Effects-3D Effects-Drop Shadow with
the following settings: Vertical/Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 100,
Blur: 1.00, Color: Black
Step 21) Merge all layers and
add a 2 pixel symmetrical border in your background colour (#efb813)
to your image by Clicking on Image-Add Borders.
Step 22) Again add a 25 pixel
symmetrical border in your foreground colour (#5f322f) to your
image by Clicking on Image-Add Borders.
Step 23) With your magic
wand set to: Mode: replace, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance:
0 (null) the rest to default settings, click on your 25 pixel
border to select it.
Step 24) Click on Effects-Texture Effects-
Weave with the following settings:

Step 25) Click on Selections
- Select None.
Step 26) Add a
2 pixel symmetrical border in your background colour (#efb813)
to your image by Clicking on Image-Add Borders.
Step 27) Add a New Raster Layer
and place your watermark. Merge your Layers again by Clicking
on Layers-Merge-Merge All(flatten).
Step 28) You may want to resize
your image by clicking on Image - Resize to the size you want. You
may also want to sharpen your image at this point by clicking
on Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpness.
Step 29) Save your image by Clicking on File-Export-JPEG
Optimizer.
